Versus Systems Teams Up With Utomik For In-Game Rewards

After teaming up with computer brand HP just over a month to ago to offer rewards to gamers through the OMEN Command Center software, Versus Systems Inc. today announced another addition to that partnership.

Running through Oct. 31, anyone earning rewards via the HP OMEN program or through other Versus platforms will have the chance to win a 3-month membership with game subscription platform Utomik.

Attempting to disrupt standard discount digital PC sales outlets, Utomik currently includes monthly access to 1,030 titles — significantly higher than the 100+ games available through the Microsoft Ultimate Game Pass.

Rather than selling digital games at a steep discount, members gain access to all the titles on the Utomik platform for a flat monthly fee.

Discussing teaming up with Versus and HP, Utomik Chief Executive Officer Doki Tops commented:

Our goal is always to help as many people as possible to discover as many great games as they can and working with Versus Systems and OMEN Rewards is the perfect opportunity for us to do that. We are looking forward to welcoming this new audience to the Utomik community.

The previously announced Versus partnership with HP allows gamers to earn prizes by completing achievements in games they were already playing after adding those games to their OMEN Command Center list.

While the Command Center is pre-bundled with all OMEN gaming laptops, it can also be downloaded for free on any PC via the Microsoft Store.

Subscription services such as Utomik are expected to see a big boost in the near future and become the norm as physical media usage continues to decline, with software giant Microsoft launching a $2 promo for access to the Xbox Ultimate Game Pass service last month.

The upcoming Google Stadia platform will also stream games directly with no need to download or install the game files via any sort of physical medium. The monthly Stadia Plus service will additionally include a limited selection of free games as well as rotating discounts on buying other titles.

While PC and console games are seeing the most promotion on subscription services, even mobile platforms are now including the option, with Apple Arcade providing access to more than 100 games for $4.99 a month on iOS devices.
