NVIDIA Releasing Two New Mid-Range Super Series Graphics Cards

As the holiday season approaches and most of the major yearly franchise games have hit shelves, graphics processing and AI giant NVIDIA  today announced the launch of two new video cards. 

The GeForce GTX 1660 Super is officially available today, while the 1650 Super version will arrive for consumers on Nov. 22. 

The new card duo is specifically geared at multiplayer games with a large eSports presence on both the amateur and pro sides, like Fortnite and Apex Legends. 

Discussing the release of new cards outside the current RTX line, the company issued this statement today: 

The 1660 Super line follows the release of the Super edition for the company’s higher end RTX cards aimed at early adopters and gamers requiring cutting edge graphics. 

Positioned between the last and current gen, the 1660 effectively offers a mid-range option between the older series — where the 1060 still remains a very popular option in gaming desktops and laptops — and the newer, more expensive RTX series. 

While the RTX 2080 Super retails for around $700, the GeForce GTX 1660 Super is much more affordable to the average gamer, coming out of the gate at $229. Pricing for the 1650 edition has not yet been revealed, but is expected to be announced in early November. 

These two additions to the NVIDIA lineup land alongside a new game ready driver today updating existing GeForce cards to support the launch of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare. 

Aside from resolving game launch issues, the driver adds extra features to the NVIDIA Control Panel such as reshade filters and a new ultra low latency monitor mode. 

Call Of Duty’s new eSports season is about to kick off utilizing a revamped city-based franchise league. Every team will host a weekend long event spanning 11 cities, beginning with a first event in Minnesota this coming January.
