Allied Esports Teams Up With TV Azteca To Broadcast Gears 5 Events

While the worldwide Gears 5 Pro League heats up following the game’s official release in September, Allied Esports has announced a new partnership to broadcast Gears events in Latin America.

Allied — a subsidiary of Allied Esports Entertainment, Inc.  — will team up with Spanish language television programming company TV Azteca, S.A.B. de C.V. to launch the broadcasts.

TV Azteca is known in the eSports community for previously streaming the Fortnite World Cup as well as running the Glory Road Super Smash Bros Ultimate event.

Through the new partnership, TV Azteca will stream weekly live Gears 5 eSports coverage of the four team Latin American region leading up to the Nov. 25 finale in Mexico City.

The worldwide league is currently ongoing, and is due to wrap up next July, with $2 million in prizes available to players during the course of the 2019 – 2020 season.

Allied Esports COO David Moon commented on the broadcast partnership announcement today:

Creating electrifying programming with partners like Gears Esports will be the foundation of our future network, powered by Allied Esports’ unmatched innovation and TV Azteca’s vast reach. On the heels of successful events this summer watched by millions, we are excited to bring the Gears 5 Pro League to an audience showing a hunger for great esports content.

In other Gears of War news, the new Gears Unlimited live streaming event will also kick off tomorrow – Nov. 1 – via the official Gears Esports site.

The latest iteration in the ongoing Gears Of War franchise was released last month via Microsoft’s new subscription service Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, effectively making it a free game for current subscribers rather than paying the full release price.

Players with the Ultimate version of the pass can access the game either through the Xbox One console or directly via PC using the Windows store. Additional Microsoft exclusive AAA games are expected to arrive on the service in the future as more companies switch towards a subscription model.

Allied Esports isn’t the only company to capitalize on the recent launch of Gears 5, with UMG Media Ltd.  hosting a two day online and offline launch party featuring eSports pro players and a partnership with gamer energy drink company G Fuel.
