{"id":29042,"date":"2024-04-15T09:15:40","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T13:15:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/capital10x.com\/old\/?p=29042"},"modified":"2024-04-15T09:15:40","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T13:15:40","slug":"hot-chili-to-create-new-water-company-submits-multi-user-maritime-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/capital10x.com\/old\/hot-chili-to-create-new-water-company-submits-multi-user-maritime-application\/","title":{"rendered":"Hot Chili to Create New Water Company, Submits Multi-User Maritime Application"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><strong>Hot Chili Limited (ASX: HCH) (TSXV: HCH) (OTCQX: HHLKF) <\/strong><\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">has submitted a second maritime concession application to support a potential multi-user, water <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">network for the Huasco valley area of the Southern Atacama region of Chile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Importantly, Hot Chili\u2019s second maritime concession application also includes brine discharge for potential <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">seawater desalination operations on the Huasco coastline so that both raw seawater and desalinated water could <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">be provided by a potential water network. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In addition, the Company is also preparing to transfer its water assets (maritime concession, costal land accesses <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and water pipeline easements etc) into a new stand-alone water company controlled by Hot Chili.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">These next steps follow positive initial engagement with several potential desalinated water customers in the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Huasco valley area as well as several suitable water infrastructure partners. The Company is pleased to be <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">positioning its water assets to potentially generate significant value for Hot Chili\u2019s shareholders.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#a2cbe4;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#bce5fe;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\">Hot Chili is the only Company in the region holding a current granted maritime water concession for extraction, a current maritime application for extraction and desalinated discharge, and most necessary permits to provide critical desalinated water supply to the Huasco valley, following over a decade of permitting advance for the Company\u2019s coastal range, Costa Fuego copper-gold project.<\/div><\/div>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">While Costa Fuego\u2019s mine development plan considers the use of raw seawater for future processing, the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Company\u2019s recently announced Water Supply Concept Study (see announcement dated 26th February <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2024) confirmed the potential to also develop a large, multi-user, desalinated water supply business in the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Huasco valley area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">A Water Supply Business Case Study is underway, and the Company has been engaging with potential <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">water customers, potential infrastructure partners and Chilean government regulators since <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">announcement of the outcomes of the Water Supply Concept Study. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The second maritime concession application is a key next step to developing a potential desalinated water <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">business to supply community, agricultural and new mining demand of up to 3,700 litres per second (l\/s) <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">over the long-term in the Huasco Valley.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Leveraging Hot Chili\u2019s water assets to enable the development of multiple, nearby, large-scale mining <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">projects, comes at a time where Chile\u2019s government is actively encouraging investment in multi-user <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">desalination water networks in the Atacama.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default su-quote-has-cite\"><div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">Water scarcity is THE critical issue for new mine developments in the Atacama on both the Chilean and Argentinean side of the Andes. Hot Chili is the only Company holding most of the necessary permits required to provide desalinated water to the Huasco valley \u2013 a prolific region for potential new global copper supply needed to support global electrification and decarbonation. Securing these assets has involved over a decade of commitment.
