Ecora Resources PLC (LSE\/TSX: ECOR) <\/strong>Today issued a portfolio update following the recent public market updates provided by the operators of key projects in Ecora\u2019s royalty and stream portfolio.<\/p>\n

The company continues to expect volume growth in 2024 at operations underlying its producing royalty portfolio which, at current commodity price levels, would imply year-on-year portfolio contribution growth. In addition, Ecora’s near-term development royalties are poised for significant de-risking events in the year ahead.<\/p>\n

Producing Royalties<\/h2>\n

Voisey\u2019s Bay (Operator: Vale)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Vale announced that the Voisey\u2019s Bay underground project was more than 90% complete as of December 2023. Vale continues to anticipate ore mined at the underground Reid Brook and Eastern Deeps ore bodies to ramp-up during the course of 2024, with the Eastern Deeps main production start-up expected to occur in the second half of this year. Ecora continues to expect to receive between 12 and 16 deliveries of cobalt during 2024 (each delivery is 20 tonnes of which 70% is attributable to Ecora).<\/p>\n

Mantos Blancos (Operator: Capstone Copper)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Production for the full year is forecast to be in line with Ecora\u2019s expectations at 49-57kt. Capstone stated that during the first half of 2024 it intends to install the necessary equipment to remove bottlenecks between major components of the Mantos Blancos processing circuit. Following which Capstone expects the mine to operate at nameplate throughput rates of 7.3mtpa and subsequently intends to recommence studies related to Mantos Blancos Phase 2 expansion.<\/p>\n

Iron Ore Company of Canada (Operator: Rio Tinto)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) has been awarded C$18.1million from the Government of Canada\u2019s Low Carbon Economy Fund to support the decarbonization of the production of iron ore concentrate and iron ore pellets. IOC\u2019s cumulative greenhouse gas emissions are expected to be reduced by 9% over the life of the project.<\/p>\n

Development Portfolio<\/h2>\n

Santo Domingo<\/span> (Operator: Capstone Copper)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Capstone is expecting to release an updated Santo Domingo <\/span>F<\/span>easibility <\/span>S<\/span>tudy <\/span>during<\/span> the first half of 2024. <\/span>The original 2018 Feasibility Study contemplat<\/span>ed<\/span> a stand<\/span>–<\/span>alone operation<\/span> and<\/span> will be updated to reflect <\/span>synergies expected to arise from Capstone\u2019s nearby Manto<\/span>v<\/span>erde mine<\/span> where a <\/span>brownfield expansion <\/span>was <\/span>completed <\/span> at the end of 202<\/span>3.<\/span> Capstone is targeting a final investment decision<\/span> to construct the Santo <\/span>
Domingo project in H2 2025<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

West Musgrave<\/span> (Operator: BHP)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

The West Musgrave project\u2019s economics remain robust, with <\/span>BHP <\/span>stating that the operation could generate <\/span>reasonable returns despite a weak nickel price environment and assuming lower forward prices for nickel. <\/span>However,<\/span> as <\/span>BHP <\/span>studies a potential move into care and maintenance for Nickel West,<\/span> it will consider the <\/span>meri<\/span>ts of <\/span> phasing the remaining <\/span> West Musgrave construction <\/span> capital expenditure<\/span>.<\/span> The West Musgrave <\/span>project is currently 21% complete, and f<\/span>irst <\/span> copper and nickel production <\/span> had previously been targeted <\/span>between <\/span>Q4 2<\/span>02<\/span>5 <\/span>and <\/span>calendar year 2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Piau<\/span>\u00ed<\/span> (Operator: Brazilian Nickel)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Brazilian Nickel <\/span> Limited <\/span> continues to progress construction financing workstreams, including debt and <\/span>equity funding. Detailed engineering activities are underway, and the Brazilian Nickel project t<\/span>eam has been expanded to include a Chief Sustainability Officer with over 25 years\u2019 experience, most recently at Vale Base Metals, and Chief People Officer with 17 years of experience, much of it in the mining sector.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Piau<\/span>\u00ed<\/span> project<\/span>,<\/span> located<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> Brazilian<\/span> state<\/span> of<\/span> Piau\u00ed,<\/span> is<\/span> a<\/span> low<\/span>–<\/span>cost<\/span> heap leaching nickel and cobalt <\/span>project<\/span>, <\/span> expected to<\/span> produce 27<\/span> ktpa of nickel and 1<\/span> ktpa of cobalt credit <\/span> during the initial<\/span> 10 years of <\/span>operation.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
