Because of this, buyers need to be reassured that they can source vanadium to truly scale their storage needs over time.<\/p>\n<p>Largo&#8217;s vertical integration will give the company a leg up on most other vanadium battery providers. Despite these challenges, I am pleased to report that we are tracking in line with our 2023 production and sales guidance as of Q1 2023.\u201d He continued: \u201cWe expect to reach a number of significant milestones in 2023, including the successful delivery of the Company&#8217;s first VRFB system in Spain, the inauguration of its ilmenite concentration plant as well as finalizing negotiations with Ansaldo, which remain ongoing. As the vanadium sector continues to exhibit steady demand, our focus remains on delivering these milestones over the course of the year in an effort to maximize shareholder value.<span class=\"su-quote-cite\">-Interim Ceo Daniel Tellechea<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<h2>Vanadium Demand is Strong<\/h2>\n<p>Largo ended up selling more vanadium than it expected in the quarter due to a ramp up on orders from the aerospace industry, where Largo&#8217;s high purity vanadium is in high demand.<\/p>\n<p>Largo is selling 40% of its mined vanadium to the Aerospace industry as a higher margin, higher purity product. The first battery will have a capacity of 6.1mwh. All required hardware for the installation was delivered and LCE&#8217;s field service team completed a significant portion of the system installation, including the alternating current power systems, chiller system, LCE\u2019s power containers and electrolyte storage containers.<\/p>\n<p>The Company expects hot commissioning of the VRFB system to be completed in June 2023 with final approval from Enel coming in Q3 2023.<\/p>\n<h2>Additional Revenue Growth From Ilmenite Plant Coming Soon<\/h2>\n<p>Following the anticipated completion of construction and commissioning of its ilmenite concentration plant in Q2 2023, the Company expects to begin producing ilmenite concentrate in early Q3 2023.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#bfbfba;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#d9d9d4;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\">Management has said previously they will be releasing revenue and profitability guidance related to the Ilmenite plant soon after commissioning is complete and production commences.\u00a0<\/div><\/div>\n<p>The Company expects a gradual ramp up of ilmenite production in Q3 2023 with the expectation of building sufficient stockpiles of produced material for sale in early 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The Company continues to explore alternative debt financing or
