Looking to expand beyond the company\u2019s current roster of competitive gaming tournaments, UMG Media Ltd.<\/strong> [stock_market_widget type=\"inline\" template=\"generic\" color=\"default\" assets=\"ESPT.V\" markup=\"(TSXV: {symbol} {currency_symbol}{price} ({change_pct}))\" api=\"yf\"] just signed an agreement to snap up business-to-business managed games development company Victor\u2019s Gold.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Specifically focused on monetizing\u00a0a variety of in-game events, Victor\u2019s Gold currently runs the\u00a0Merc tournament series for\u00a0<\/span>Counter-Strike<\/span><\/i> at various LAN centre arenas across the country. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to the announcement, Victor\u2019s Gold had been preparing for the next phase of growth by aiming to bring eSports gaming to casinos. That initiative will now take place under the UMG banner after the acquisition is completed, subject to regulatory approval.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to close within the next 30 days, the\u00a0<\/span>arm\u2019s length deal<\/span><\/a> will be paid through the issuance of 1,000,000 ESPT common shares at a price of $0.30 \u2014 representing a slight premium over the company\u2019s current price of $0.23 a share.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Announcing the tournament services\u00a0<\/span>acquisition<\/span>\u00a0deal this morning, UMG\u2019s Chief Executive Officer\u00a0Dave Antony commented:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The introduction of Victor\u2019s Gold to UMG will allow for many exciting new opportunities for our brand. We\u2019re ecstatic to be able to expand our reach into <\/span>CS:GO<\/span><\/i>,\u00a0<\/span>League of Legends,\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and more with Victor\u2019s Gold and have plans to integrate it into\u00a0<\/span>UMG\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0platform.<\/span> <\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n

In other recent news, four of\u00a0<\/span>UMG\u2019s Friday\u00a0<\/span>Fortnite<\/span><\/i>\u00a0players recently won world championship events, with\u00a0<\/span>16-year-old<\/span>\u00a0Kyle \u201c<\/span>Bugha<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Geirsdorf<\/span>\u00a0claiming $3 million as the World Champion.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fortnite<\/span><\/i>\u2018s<\/span>\u00a0fall pre-season is now kicking off for UMG tournament players, while the game\u2019s official ranked competitive Season X matches launched earlier this month.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In conjunction with the barrage of new\u00a0<\/span>Fortnite<\/span><\/i>\u00a0matches, UMG has also teamed up with a frequent companion to the competitive gaming industry with an energy drink deal.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
