While ranked #1 overall in the league for the season, the Titans finally met defeat at the hands of San Francisco Shock this weekend. That tournament featured a prize pool of $3.5 million and saw the Shock win in a surprise upset 4 – 0 match.

The Titans entered the 2019 League as underdogs in one of eight expansion teams, snapping up several members of the South Korean Overwatch Contenders team RunAway.

Discussing the Titan’s record breaking debut season in the Overwatch League running up to the recent defeat in the Finals, Luminosity Gaming President Steve Maida commented:

I am sure the millions of fans around the world enjoyed watching teams of this calibre. As owners and managers of the Vancouver Titans, we are very proud of the team for an unbelievable first season and for the hard fought battle against the San Francisco Shock. We eagerly await next season from Rogers Arena.

With the Grand Finals now over, Overwatch League teams are beginning the process of negotiating player contracts for the upcoming 2020 season, with all teams required to have at least 8 players under contract for the coming year by Nov. 15.
