Flower One Considers Deuces 22 a Slam Dunk

Flower One Holdings Inc. has bolstered its portfolio with the cannabis brand founded by four-time NBA champion John Salley and his daughter Tyla.

Salley starred for the Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, and LA Lakers during a stellar career. He won his first championship in 1989 and his fourth in 2000, making him the only player to secure a ring in three different decades.

Since retiring from the game he has emerged as a talk show host, vegan activist, chef, and wellness entrepreneur.

He founded Deuces 22, reflecting his long-time jersey number, in LA back in 2017. It produces pre-rolls, flower, topicals, and other cannabis products.

Deuces 22 has now struck its first-ever U.S. distribution deal by appointing Flower One to handle manufacturing and sales within Nevada. It will mark the brand’s U.S. market debut and products should begin appearing on shelves imminently.

Salley said that appointing Flower One was an easy decision. “We strongly believe in their expertise and knowledge of the industry, and trust that as the Deuces 22 brand grows and evolves, the team and facility behind Flower One will be integral to our ability to reach and deliver a memorable experience to the market,” he added.

Flower One bills itself as the largest cannabis cultivator and “full-service brand fulfilment partner” in Nevada. It has the capacity to produce 62,500 kg of cannabis flower per year at its Las Vegas facility, while it distributes dry flower, pre-rolls, cannabis oils, distillates, concentrates, edibles, topicals, and infused products.

It has already had success with the NLV Organics brand and it is excited about the potential for Deuces 22 in the Nevada market.

Salley’s brand has created an educational platform called Deuces Academy, which aims to explain the benefits of marijuana use in simple terms and remove any stigma previously attached to the cannabis plant. That was a big selling point for Harvest One’s president, Ken Villazor.

His firm will now set about producing and securing listings for Deuces 22 flower and pre-rolls at retailers throughout the Silver State. Branded vape pens, edibles, and CBD topicals will follow in the near future, while it is also selling the Deuces 22 merchandise line, which includes T-shirts with graphic designs reading “#VeganAF|” or “SATIVA”.
